Ammonites are fossilized shells from the Mesozoic Era (252-65 million years ago). These shells belonged to a common cephalopod whose shells could get to be over 9’ tall. Although these fossils can be very common, the minerals found inside can vastly change their value ranging from calcium, silica, pyrites to even ammolite.
This fossil mainly consists of calcite which is thought to bring balance, clarity and boost confidence. The fossilized shell itself is the form of a spiral which carries it’s own importance; we see the spiral in the golden ratio of life. A symbol of expansion and personal growth as well as a structure found through out nature which reminds us of our connection to the world around us. This piece is handwoven in clear coat enameled genuine copper. The clear coat of enamel protects the copper from patina and damage. Natural patina over time may occur, any copper safe polish will restore it’s beautiful shine. Do not expose to water over long periods of time; this will speed up the patina process.
