Commissions Q&A
-
I’m so glad you asked! Do you have an idea in your head? A character you’ve longed to see on paper? A loved one you’d like to honor in a portrait? A pet you’d like to remember forever? Maybe you have someone in your life who already has everything and you’re looking for a gift with a personal touch. Then you’ve come to the right place! A commission is like renting an artist. You can tell me what you’d like as the subject, color themes, size, orientation, etc. and select the amount of hours that works for your budget!

Once you’ve preordered a Commission slot, I’ll reach out to confirm details, ask questions, request photos of your inspiration & more.
Once the details have been settled a complimentary sketch will be drawn for your approval. During this stage you can request alterations.
After the sketch is confirmed the fun begins! I will dedicate the time allotted in your budget for this project to create a finished piece you can enjoy for years to come!

Unfortunately I am one person with only two hands, so there is a limit to how many projects I can complete in a month. Commission slots will be sold on a first come first serve basis. If you’re worried about availability or would like to book in advance, please feel free to contact me, otherwise start & finish dates will be confirmed upon purchase.

My rates are as follows;
$20/hour for graphite
$25/hour for watercolor
These rates reflect cost of replenishing materials such as pigments, paints, papers, brushes and more. Graphite pieces generally take less costly supplies than a watercolor painting. Paintings will be finished on 300lb high grade cold press paper with professional grade Winsor & Newton pigments.

Commissions will be completed in standard matting sizes either landscape or portrait to make framing simple and easy! Actual image size will reflect the opening of standard matboards. Completed projects will be professionally matted and shipped right to your door!
Want to skip the work? I have standard sized frames available for extra cost & shipping fees.
Have a frame in mind? Send me it’s dimensions in advance and I can customize the piece to fit!

Once a project is completed, clients can request additional merchandise made with their new design; prints, stationary, mugs, etc. at an additional cost. If you’re planning on booking a commission with additional merchandise in mind for a specific event or holiday please contact me in advance. This ensures reasonable expectations for production, pricing and shipping time. Thank you!

Last but not least; I reserve the right to turn down and refund any commission projects. While I want to accommodate and create the very best art for all of you, some creations are beyond even me. If I feel that the expectations can not be reached within your budget, I may reach out to you to discuss a plan forward.

Toss a coin your Witcher! Tipping is absolutely never required but if you'd like to show a little extra support and love to a small independent artist, every bit helps and is very appreciated.
